Merlot is originally a French grape, brought over from the Bordeaux region. Here in Italy, first in Friuli with the Veneto (and in other regions) a close second, it has found similar climatic conditions.

The abundant yield and the good quality wine obtained, especially when the grapes are harvested when fully ripened, have rapidly spread the cultivation of these grapes.

The wine’s rich colour reminds us of the lovely Vignola cherries (the cherries used in Amarena syrups).

The aroma is intensely “berried”, the same mouth sensation felt when biting into a fully ripe grape.
